Our Story
Built From a Love Story
Oasis of Grand Traverse began long before the land.
It began with two people who chose each other — and kept choosing each other — through decades of shared mornings, distant horizons, and quiet conversations that stretched late into the night.
Over the years, we have traveled not to collect destinations, but to collect moments.
Espresso at a small café in Paris, where time seemed to slow between sips.
A glass of Bordeaux held a little longer as the sun softened over Saint-Émilion.
Driving through Provence with the windows open, golden light spilling over fields near L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Saint-Rémy, and Les Baux.

And in Granada, beneath the carved arches of the Alhambra, we stood in still gardens where fountains whispered into marble basins. Water moved gently through courtyards older than memory. The air felt sacred. Quiet. Intentional.
In Cádiz, we watched the Atlantic shimmer against whitewashed walls, the sea breeze carrying a softness that made us lean a little closer.
These places were beautiful.
But what stayed with us was not the architecture, or the views.
It was how we felt there.
Unrushed.
Connected.
Present with each other.
Somewhere between those journeys, a question began to form:
What if we could create a place that held that feeling — here at home?
The Dune
We searched for waterfront land. We were outbid. We nearly settled.
Then one winter afternoon, we walked through thick shrubs and unmarked paths in Grand Traverse County and found something unexpected — a hidden sand dune surrounded by trees.
Snow blanketed the earth. The air was still. The world felt paused.
When we reached the top, we didn’t speak.
We simply knew.
Not because it was dramatic.
But because it was quiet.
Secluded.
Rare.
Open to the sky.
It felt like a place where love could exhale.

Why Couples
Oasis is intentionally designed for couples.
Not as a policy — but as a philosophy.
We believe love deepens in stillness.
That connection returns when distractions fade.
That sometimes the most powerful thing two people can do is step away from the world
and step toward each other.
Just minutes from Traverse City — yet embraced by trees, dunes, and open sky — Oasis offers a rare kind of balance:
Proximity without pressure.
Luxury without spectacle.
Beauty without noise.
A Place Shaped by Memory
The warmth of Bordeaux.
The intimacy of a Parisian café.
The hush of the Alhambra’s gardens.
The sunlit drives through Provence.
The quiet glow of Cádiz at dusk.
These memories live here now — translated into wood, glass, light, and space.
Every detail has been chosen slowly.
Intentionally.
With reverence for what love becomes when given room to breathe.
With the help of our family — and the love of our five sons — we shaped twenty acres of Northern Michigan into
something deeply personal.
Oasis is not an investment.
It is not a development.
It is an offering.
Our Hope
We built Oasis the way we’ve built our marriage — patiently, imperfectly, beautifully, and
with love at the center.
Our hope is simple.
That when you stand barefoot in the sand.
When you share coffee in the morning light.
When you sit quietly beneath the stars —
you will feel the world soften.
And remember what it feels like to be just the two of you again.
